Christine is an early season variety of Strawberry Plant. It will crop 10-14 days ahead of standard Strawberries (mid June to early July) with large bright berries which are easily picked. The flavour is excellent with good sugar levels (ideal for Jam) and should provide three full crops when grown in the traditional way, they also respond well when covered with fleece. These Early Christine Strawberry Plants are fully resistant to Verticillium Wilt and have good resistance to Mildew.
All our soft fruit plants are Top Quality, Commercially Produced Plants that have been stringently researched and tested. They are bred at East Malling Research and have passed all the relevant Industry Recommendations.
On the HDC Trial (Horticultural Development Company) the Christine was found to be the firmest variety with high skin strength and little bruising, it was also proven to have a high level of Class 1 Fruit and low levels of small or misshappen berries.
Our suppliers are fully Certified under the PHPS (Plant Health Propagation Scheme) to avoid unwanted viruses and low quality plants, although this does not guarantee the plants it does provide the highest genuine safeguard against pests and viruses, something amateur growers will find reassuring.
These plants are sent as Bare Root Strawberry Plants they are mature plants not small plug plants. These are the plants that Commercial Growers of Strawberries use. What better way to enjoy summer than by growing your own Strawberries and with our varieties you give your self the best chance of producing top quality fruit and high yields.
